Some scholarships require students to continue to demonstrate financial need for yearly renewal. This information is evaluated based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If the FAFSA information IU receives shows that a student no longer demonstrates financial need to renew their scholarship, students may submit additional materials as documentation.
Please note that failure to provide additional documentation may result in the ineligibility for renewal of the student's scholarship in question.
Accepted documentation includes:
- A pay stub demonstrating that the student continued to work while attending classes during the most recent academic year that the scholarship was awarded.
OR
- A short essay (500 words or less) describing how the student’s family’s financial situation as reported on the FAFSA does not accurately reflect the student’s financial situation.
Please ensure any critical data—such as your Social Security number, bank account number, home address, government ID, etc.—is removed from any submitted documentation.
