Regan found a way to give back to IU as a current student through an organization on campus.
Growing up in Indiana, Regan thought Indiana University was just another in-state school. She knew about the university, but wasn't necessarily interested in attending. However, this all changed when she visited campus and spoke with current students. She quickly realized all of the amazing opportunities that students at IU had. After learning about the various organizations, clubs, and academic programs, she was able to picture herself being a student here. "I started to understand that I really could make IU my home and I could explore all of the things that I was interested in," Regan said.
One of the things that Regan chose to get involved in her freshmen year was the Scholarship Advisory Committee (SAC). The SAC is an organization that assists the Office of Scholarships with marketing and recruitment for prospective students by providing the current student experience. Regan enjoys talking with prospective students and their families and explaining why she loves being a student at IU. Through the SAC, Regan has found a way to give back to Indiana University.
Not only does Regan enjoy participating in the events and projects through the SAC, she has also had the opportunity to gain leadership and professional skills. When first joining the organization, Regan was in charge of digital media. Since then, she has served as the Captain of the organization for two years. Her favorite part about the SAC is working with campus partners in various academic programs and seeing students that she has recruited at events on campus.
