Jane is the co-president of an organization committed to poverty alleviation.
When Jane looks back over her college career, she is again overwhelmed by the wealth of opportunities at Indiana University. A political science major with minors in French and math and a certificate in business, Jane has explored her academic passions at IU. "I've loved my academic experience at IU, but my experiences outside the classroom have also been incredibly engaging and rewarding, and have helped me grow in ways I couldn't have anticipated."
Having always had a love for travel, Jane took advantage of the international opportunities at IU. She did an internship at a non-profit in Dublin the summer after her sophomore year, and spent her spring semester of junior year in Rabat, Morocco. "The ability to stay with a host family, study human rights, and conduct my own research in Morocco was a transformative experience for me. It was like nothing I've done before."
When she is on campus, Jane is involved in several extracurricular activities. Her biggest involvement is being co-president of Nourish International. An organization committed to sustainable poverty alleviation, Jane found a cause that she is passionate about and a community that is supportive and fun. "Nourish keeps me busy, but being able to work every day with people who are committed to changing the world for the better makes all the effort worthwhile."
