Dri tries to give her residents the best introduction to IU possible.
Even though she's no longer a freshman, Adriana "Dri" Rivera can't help but get caught up in the excitement that happens during Welcome Week (her favorite time of year) at IU. "There's so much energy and everyone is so happy to be here, the possibilities are endless."
During Welcome Week, her favorite event to attend is CultureFest, an event where you can hear, taste, see, and feel the cultural diversity that makes IU one of the nation's most international universities. At CultureFest, Dri has seen comedians, choirs, and slam poets from all over the country perform. "I love that IU promotes and celebrates diversity from day one."
Dri participates in events like CultureFest and many more alongside her peers through her role as an Resident Advisor (RA). This is her second year in the position. She has worked on a co-ed and an all girls floor. "Every day is an adventure when you're responsible for 50 freshmen. It can be a lot of pressure but it has helped me grow so much." Dri tries to give her residents the best introduction to IU possible, setting them up to do all the great things Hoosiers are born to do.
