Automatic Academic Scholarships
Automatic Academic Scholarships are awarded to all incoming freshmen who meet the following academic criteria at the time of admission in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in high school. No separate application is necessary for consideration. The SAT score considered is based on the Critical Reading and Math sections. The ACT score considered is the Composite score. November 1 is the priority date for admission and merit scholarship consideration. These scholarships are renewable for four years (eight semesters) of study at IU by maintaining a 3.0 cumulative program GPA. While November 1 is the freshman priority date for maximum merit scholarship consideration, we will continue to award Automatic Academic Scholarships based on available funding. We are still awarding Automatic Academic Scholarships at this time.
IU Excellence - $36,000 ($9,000 per year)
The IU Excellence Scholarship is awarded to the best and brightest students in the state of Indiana who meet each of the following criteria:
- Indiana resident
- Minimum SAT score of 1330 or minimum ACT score of 30
- Minimum GPA of 3.80 on a 4.0 scale
IU Distinction - $36,000 ($9,000 per year)
The IU Distinction Scholarship is awarded to the best and brightest out-of-state students who meet each of the following criteria:
- Out-of-state student (domestic and international)
- Minimum SAT score of 1330 or minimum ACT score of 30
- Minimum GPA of 3.80 on a 4.0 scale
IU Prestige - $20,000 ($5,000 per year)
The IU Prestige Scholarship is awarded to students who meet each of the following criteria:
- Indiana resident or out-of-state student
- Minimum SAT score of 1260 or minimum ACT score of 28
- Minimum GPA of 3.80 on a 4.0 scale
IU Recognition - $8,000 ($2,000 per year)
The IU Recognition Scholarship is awarded to students who meet each of the following criteria:
- Indiana resident or out-of-state student
- Minimum SAT score of 1170 or minimum ACT score of 26
- Minimum GPA of 3.70 on a 4.0 scale
Valedictorian Award - $4,000 ($1,000 per year)
The Valedictorian Award is awarded to students in the state of Indiana who have distinguished themselves from their peers, and who meet each of the following criteria:
- Indiana resident
- Ranked number one in their graduating class at the time of admission
